8 News Now: Teen Safe Driving Contest Winner

(LAS VEGAS) — KLAS-TV — Sam & Ash Injury Law was recently featured on 8 News Now to celebrate the winner of the “Sam & Ash Safe Teen Driving Essay Contest.” The campaign launched in October of 2024 in support of National Teen Driver Safety Week with the intent to enhance awareness and address the issue of teen injuries and fatalities on the road. Local students were invited to write and submit a 500-word essay on the topic “What Safe Driving Means to Me.” More than 400 essays were submitted by local students.

The winner, Andrea Vinluan, said “I was just thinking about – obviously I was thinking about the car – and I was thinking about how much help it would be to my family. A lot of my essay was focused on how much my family means to me, why it was really important to get that car, and why safe driving guarantees me to go back to my family every single night.”

Andrea was gifted the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta car at a live event at her school. Judges say her essay was thoughtful and funny, earning those top marks.
