Ash Watkins of Sam & Ash Injury Law Shares Essential St. Patrick’s Day Safety Tips on Morning Blend

Three professionals seated on a modern set with St. Patrick’s Day safety tips and personal injury firm branding.

Las Vegas, NV – March 17, 2026 – St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most festive holidays of the year, but it also ranks among the top five deadliest for alcohol-related crashes nationwide. To help local residents celebrate responsibly, Ash Watkins, partner at Sam & Ash Injury Law, joined Morning Blend on March 17 to deliver practical, life-saving advice tailored to Southern Nevada drivers, pedestrians, and partygoers.

In her segment, Ash broke down the real risks associated with the holiday and offered clear steps everyone can take to stay safe. “Yes to celebrating,” she emphasized. “Just being safe is the key.”

Clark County sees a 20–40% increase in alcohol-related crashes around St. Patrick’s Day, while speed-related accidents increase 29 percent statewide. Throughout March, hundreds of impairment-related incidents are reported in the area, and local law enforcement steps up enforcement with increased DUI patrols. Even one or two drinks can impair judgment and reaction time enough to make driving dangerous, Ash explained. Add in distracted navigation to unfamiliar bars or restaurants, speeding between venues, and the higher chance of hit-and-run collisions, and the holiday can quickly turn from fun to frightening.

Ash’s top recommendations were straightforward and actionable:

  • Plan your ride home before you leave. Arrange for a designated driver, use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft, or take public transportation.
  • Look out for pedestrians. Drivers should slow down and pay extra attention at intersections, especially at night when dark clothing can make walkers harder to see.
  • Stay focused on the road. Avoid texting or using your phone while driving in crowded areas.

If an accident does occur (whether you’re a driver, passenger, or pedestrian), Ash stressed the importance of immediate and smart next steps. Call 911 right away for police and medical help. Document the scene with photos and videos of vehicles, license plates, and injuries. Most importantly, speak with an experienced attorney before giving any recorded statements to insurance companies, which can use early comments to limit or deny claims.

At Sam & Ash Injury Law, the team understands how overwhelming these situations can feel. That’s why they offer free, no-obligation consultations 24/7 and work on a contingency basis, so you pay nothing unless they recover compensation for you. With offices serving Nevada and California, the firm has recovered millions for injury victims across both states and continues to fight aggressively against insurance companies that try to undervalue legitimate claims.
